I visited Manali in the June of last year (2017) with my six friends. It was four days and five nights trip. Manali is a marvelous hillside with splashing rivers and sky-high mountains in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Manali is just 40 km away from Kullu. The scenery here is stupendous. You can see well-defined snow-covered peaks, the Beas River with its clear water surveying through the to town. Our group found Manali as calm and quiet place in the Western Himalayas as best holidays destination.
Stay at Manali
We choose Old Manali to stay as we thought that New Manali is very crowded and loud because there is the very big market at New Manali i.e Mall Road of Manali.
We all decide not to stay in hotels or resorts, but we prefer hostel i.e Rockway- The Backpacker’s Hub. I found that both the hostel and the area of Old Manali in which it is located create the gala feeling of beauty around because there is no hurry and everything is calm and quiet which take you to another world of natural beauty. View from the hostel is breathtaking, you can see mountains with stately deodar tree, apple, and Manalsu river down beside the hostel.
The most interesting area of the hostel is gaming area where you can be friends with other visitors also. kitchen of the hostel was well organized and food the prepared is not less than homemade food, so you can’t miss your home food. you can tell the kitchen person whatever you want to eat. The staff of the hostel is very friendly. It had the very friendly environment. A most important factor to choose this place was, it is located in safe and not to crowded place with amazing view.
Local places we visit
- Hadimba Temple
- Manu Temple
- Vashisht Baths
- Van Vihar
- Mall road
- Jogni Waterfall
These places were not so far, you can take a walk for these places if you like to walk a lot. We preferred to reach these places by walking only. we clicked lots of pictures in between and discovered many new things about the place.
A trip to Naggar and Jana waterfall
you can find other options for trips like a trip to Rohtang Pass, Manikaran etc. there is taxi union at Mall Road, New Manali near the bus stand. where you can talk to the taxi driver for the packages of trips and choose your trip according to you money and time. We choose this trip as we had very less time for Rohtang Pass or other places. This trip was of only One day.
First, we went to Jana waterfall. This place is awesome, peaceful, pleasant and most importantly you can take the best picture there as the view is amazing and you can have some adventure also like Ropeway.
Then we went to our other location that was Naggar Castel. Entry ticket of Naggar Casterl is 30-40 approx. for one person. It is famous as this place is used for shooting of Bollywood movies, music videos etc. One of the most famous songs of Jab We Met ‘ ye Ishq Haye’ shoot at this place. This place is worth visiting, the wooden castle can take you to the fairytale world and the view is just astonishing.
This trip to Naggar and Jana waterfall cost 700 rupees each person.
Amazing place with pure refreshing vibes. I went there with my friends and it was a delightful experience. The food was superb too. It feels like a sanctum in heaven. I’d suggest you these places which I mentioned above to visit.
